MILLBANK APARTMENT

A Luxurious and Comfortable Holiday Home

Our Millbank project is located in Westminster, overlooking the River Thames, and is one of the most elegant developments in London. The apartment is part of a large listed development renovated by the Berkeley Group, a project that took years to complete. We were involved from the very beginning, collaborating with both our client and the developer.

This property spans over 150 square metres, featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms. We were engaged throughout the design process, working closely with the developer to select key materials such as flooring and interior architectural features.

The Brief: Our clients, a family from Saudi Arabia, wanted to create a luxurious yet comfortable holiday home for their stays in London, allowing them to avoid staying in hotels. They sought a timeless, sophisticated interior that was both comfortable and practical, with a focus on maximising storage throughout the property. Their preferences leaned towards subtle colours, avoiding anything too bright or overwhelming, and they requested a closed kitchen to suit their cultural needs.

Design Choices: We approached the design with a focus on creating a sophisticated yet serene atmosphere. To meet the client's desire for subtle colours, we used a neutral palette that added warmth and elegance without overpowering the space.

All design elements were bespoke, sourced from leading luxury furniture and joinery companies. Each room was carefully planned to maximise storage, with custom wardrobes or built-in cabinetry in every space. We collaborated with Armani Casa for textiles, wall coverings, and lighting, ensuring that every detail contributed to the cohesive, high-end feel of the home.

In the living and dining areas, we incorporated oversized artwork and elegant flower arrangements to subtly zone the space without disrupting the flow of the open-plan layout. The kitchen—customised to be closed per the client's request—became a distinctive feature, setting this property apart from others in the development.

For the bedrooms, we used Armani Casa wallpaper, creating a unique colour palette for each room. Although the rooms have different colour schemes, the design flows harmoniously throughout the apartment, maintaining a consistent style that ties everything together. The subtle use of colour ensures that while each space feels distinct, the overall look remains sophisticated and cohesive.

This project is a perfect example of how to use colour in a sophisticated and timeless way, demonstrating that luxury interiors can incorporate subtle shades without being overwhelming. We are also proud to announce that this project won an award for Global Design – Living Room at the Design et al Awards.
